The Lagos state government has urged prospective retirees to familiarise themselves with retirement laws and procedures in order to make informed decisions.
The state commissioner for establishments, training and pensions Benson Akintola Oke gave the advice at a training programme organized for senior public servants.
Having put all their lives into active service, Public servants are expected to retiree with joy as they receive their benefits. It is therefore pertinent that they prepare for life after service.
This formed the basis of a 2 day training organised on preparing for retirement: understanding the contributory pension scheme for public servants who are about to retiree .
Facilitators were of the view that for public servants to enjoy good life in retirement, they must plan and safe.
The lagos state government through the ministry of establishments training and pensions and the state's pension's commission assured that it will continue to ensure that retirees get their statutory.
