The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn alongside the United States of America, Qatar and Ukraine in Group D of 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The draw ceremony was held in Poland, host nation of
the competition on Sunday at the the Gdynia arena. This puts flying eagles in a tough
group as they return to the World Junior Championships.
Nigeria qualified for the tournament after progressing from
their group at the recently concluded Africa U-20 Cup of Nations held in Niger Republic.
Nigeria has a rich history in the competition after
finishing as runners up in 1989 and 2005.
Africa's other representatives, Senegal were drawn with
hosts, Poland in Group A, alongside Colombia and Tahiti.
South Africa are in Group F with Portugal, Korea Republic and Argentina, while Mali who emerged
champions of the Under 20 Afcon will play against Panama, France and Saudi Arabia.
The 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which is the 22nd edition of
the competition, will hold in six Poland cities from May 23 to June 15.
